Summer 2011 Essentials Part 1

Well summer is in full force and I hope you all stocked up on your must have Summer Essentials for 2011. I have a couple items I just have to share that you have to have this summer. I will break this down into two posts a beauty segment and a clothing segment. Summer makeup is very important, you want to stay light natural and dewy. Here are 4 items you need this summer in your purse at all times and a couple double as multipurpose products.

I love these photos of Blake Lively. I really think what I will share with you below is a similar technique to what her makeup artist might do for a simple summer natural look. Her makeup is always very natural looking, chic, and works with whatever she is wearing. I love that her makeup is very simple looking and never over played. She is gorgeous, enough said, and one of my makeup inspirations. 

First start off with a good base. Use a tinted moisturizer with SPF.

That way you can use 1 product for foundation, lotion, and your sunscreen.

Next you need an item to give your cheeks, eyes and even lips a glow. My favorite product lately has been a liquid benefit product. You can dab it on your cheeks for blush. You can also smear it on your lips for a soft pink look and apply chap stick on top to protect your lips from the sun. Lastly apply it right under your eyebrows to illuminate your eyes and give the top of your eye a very soft glow. 

All you need for your eyes this summer is waterproof mascara. Loose the eye liner for summer and stroke on another coat of mascara. If you apply two extra coats to the end corner of your eye it will give off the look that you are wearing false eyelashes. Leave the closet end to your nose with one or two strokes and apply three to four to the opposite end for a thicker look. Trust me, try this! You will love it.

Lastly I like to top off my look with a bronzer. I brush in on the length of my nose, my cheeks, chin, and forehead. Those are the places the sun hits and that is where you want your bronze glow. I am in love with this new bronzer, give it a try!
